Restoration Services for Public Spaces

Floor sanding, repairs and maintenance for schools, churches, community halls and offices in Enfield, planned around your timetable.

Wooden floors for public buildings

Sports halls, church halls and busy offices see thousands of footsteps every week. With the right preparation and finish, an original wooden floor can be restored to look and perform like new. Our Enfield team restores floors for schools, churches, community halls and offices, and we plan every job around the way your building is used.

Sectors we cover

  • Schools - halls and classrooms restored during half-terms and summer holidays, with court markings re-applied.

  • Churches & community halls - historic and heavily used floors restored around services, bookings and events.

  • Offices - evening and weekend work to keep disruption to a minimum.

Minimal disruption

Every building has its own pressures: term times, services, bookings or working hours. We schedule work during school holidays, between services and events, or in evenings and at weekends, and we agree a clear programme before we start. Our dust-free machines and low-VOC finishes keep the rest of the building usable while we work.

Compliance you can rely on

We understand the compliance requirements of schools, churches and commercial premises. Before any job we supply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and we can send copies of our £5m public liability insurance certificate. We are used to working in occupied buildings and follow your site rules.

Sports halls and court markings

Sports hall floors need a finish that is hardwearing, easy to clean and safe to play on. We use specialist sports lacquers with appropriate slip resistance, and re-apply badminton, netball, basketball and other court markings between coats. A properly finished hall floor stays safe and smart for years. We give your caretaking team clear cleaning and maintenance advice.

Why restore rather than replace?

  • Far lower cost than a new hardwood or sports floor

  • Keeps original, high-quality timber and the character of the building

  • Less waste and a lower environmental impact

  • Faster turnaround, often within a holiday period

Maintenance plans for public buildings

A restored floor lasts much longer with a simple maintenance plan. We can set up a schedule of periodic re-coats, booked into the same holiday or quiet period each year, so the floor never wears through to bare timber. We also advise caretakers and cleaning teams on the right products and routines, and recommend entrance matting to stop grit reaching the floor. We look after many of the same buildings year after year.

We begin with a free survey and give you a fixed price and timetable. You can see typical costs on our prices page, though larger buildings are always quoted individually.

Our services for public buildings

Most projects combine full floor sanding with wood floor repairs to loose blocks or damaged boards. Between full restorations, lacquer re-coating keeps busy floors protected for a fraction of the cost. Our projects page shows some of the halls and public buildings we have worked on.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you paint court lines?

FAQ

Questions about Public Spaces

All questions
Do you do court lines on hall floors?

Yes. After sanding we apply a slip-resistant sports lacquer and can repaint court markings to your layout between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.

Will office work disrupt our staff?

Office floors can be done out of hours or in phases. Our dust-free machines and water-based lacquers mean staff can be back at their desks quickly.

Can you work during school holidays?

Yes — we plan school and public projects around term dates, events and opening hours. Most halls are finished in a few days, so the space is back in use quickly.

Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?

We provide risk assessments, method statements and insurance details before work begins. We are used to working in schools, churches and offices with site inductions and access rules.

How are your prices worked out?

Prices depend on the floor area, condition, repairs needed and the finish you choose. Our price list shows typical starting prices, and we confirm everything with a fixed written quote.

Can you restore a church or community hall floor?

We have restored many church and community hall floors. We treat older floors with care and choose finishes suited to busy halls. See churches and community halls.
