Wood Floor Repairs
From a single cracked board to a lifting parquet hallway, we repair wooden floors across Enfield so they look and feel whole again. Every repair is matched to your existing floor.
Wooden floor repairs in Enfield
Most wooden floors that look tired or broken can be saved. With the right timber, careful joinery and a well-matched finish, we repair the damaged areas and keep everything that is still sound. We work on period homes, modern apartments and busy public buildings across Enfield and the surrounding areas.
Repairs are often the first stage of a bigger project. Once the floor is sound, floor sanding takes everything back to fresh timber so new and old wood finish as one surface. If the floor only needs a refresh afterwards, a maintenance re-oil may be all it takes.
Specialist repairs for every type of wooden floor
Every floor type needs a slightly different approach, so our repair work is split into three specialist services:
Parquet and block floor repairs - re-laying lifted blocks, replacing damaged ones with reclaimed timber and restoring the pattern.
Floorboard repairs - split, rotten or badly patched boards replaced with matched reclaimed pine, and loose boards secured to the joists.
Engineered and solid floor repairs - plank replacement, re-bonding lifted boards and dealing with movement or water damage.
Making repairs invisible
A repair is only successful if you cannot find it afterwards. Wherever we can, we use reclaimed timber of the same species and size, because new wood rarely matches the colour of floors that have aged for decades. If new wood has to be used, we tone it in with stains and oils so the repair blends with the rest of the room.
Common problems we fix
Creaking floors and boards that move underfoot
Loose parquet blocks and failed adhesive
Boards stained or warped by leaks and spills
Old service cut-outs, mismatched patches and filled holes
Burns, deep gouges and pet damage
Why floors get damaged
Before we fix anything, we work out why the floor failed. Lifting blocks often point to damp or failed adhesive, cupped boards to a leak or poor ventilation, and creaks to loose fixings or tired joists. We take moisture readings, inspect underneath where we can and talk you through the options. Where another trade is needed first, we say so, so your new repair is not wasted.
What happens after the repair
A repaired floor can be left as it is, blended locally or fully refinished. Many customers go on to change the colour with wood floor staining, or close draughty gaps between boards with gap filling. Because timber moves through the year, gap filling is not covered by our service guarantee - we always explain why before work starts. Our restoration work itself is covered by a three-month service guarantee.
Repairs with peace of mind
We always survey the floor first and give you a fixed written quote, with no surprises on the day. Our craftsmen carry full public liability insurance, protect your rooms and leave the house clean. You can see examples of our work on the projects page, and typical costs on our prices page.
Looking after a larger building? We also carry out repairs for public buildings, planned around your timetable.

Common questions
Can you match my existing floorboards?
In most cases. We use reclaimed timber of the same species and size wherever possible and tone it in during finishing.
Do I need to sand the whole floor after a repair?
Not always. Small repairs can sometimes be blended locally, but a full sand gives the most even result, especially on older floors.
Is it possible to stop floorboards creaking?
Yes. We locate the loose boards and re-fix them to the joists, often without lifting them.
How long do repairs take?
Small repairs are typically finished in a day; larger areas take longer, and we confirm timings with your quote.

Questions about Wood Floor Repairs
Will there be a lot of dust?
Very little. Our dust-free sanding systems capture around 99% of dust at source, so your home stays clean while we work. We also sheet off doorways and protect adjoining rooms before we start.
Do I need to empty the room?
Empty the room where possible and take down curtains that reach the floor. We can help move heavy furniture if we know in advance. Our preparation checklist has more tips.
Which areas do you cover?
Our team works across Enfield and the neighbouring towns and villages. If you are just outside the area, get in touch — we are often happy to travel for larger jobs.
Can I get a price without a visit?
Often, yes. A few clear photos and the room sizes let us give a guide price within a working day. We confirm it with a short visit before work starts, so the final quote is fixed.
Can I stay at home during the work?
No. We work room by room, and most customers stay at home throughout. Our water-based lacquers and low-VOC oils have very little odour, and we plan the order of rooms around you.
How are your prices worked out?
Prices depend on the floor area, condition, repairs needed and the finish you choose. Our price list shows typical starting prices, and we confirm everything with a fixed written quote.
