How our guarantee works

What the guarantee covers

All floor restoration work we carry out — sanding, staining and finishing — is guaranteed for 3 months from the date we complete the job. If a fault caused by our workmanship or the materials we supplied appears in that time, we will come back and put it right free of charge.

It covers problems such as:

  • A finish that peels, lifts or does not cure as it should

  • Sanding marks or uneven areas left by our work

  • Stain colour that is uneven or does not match the approved sample

  • Repairs we carried out that work loose under normal use

The guarantee applies under normal domestic or agreed commercial use, provided the aftercare advice we give you is followed.

What is not covered

Gap filling is not covered by the guarantee. Timber floors expand and contract with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, and with structural movement in the building. That movement can cause filler to crack or work loose and gaps to reappear, however carefully the work was done. Because this is down to the timber rather than our workmanship, it falls outside the guarantee. Our gap filling page explains the options.

The guarantee also does not cover:

  • Damage from water, leaks, flooding or standing spills

  • Scratches and dents from furniture without felt pads or protectors

  • Damage from pets' claws, high heels, grit or wheeled equipment

  • Problems with the subfloor, joists, damp or the structure of the building

  • Natural changes in timber colour caused by sunlight and age

  • Damage from unsuitable cleaning products or lack of maintenance

Raising a problem

If you notice a problem, contact us as soon as possible with a description and a few photos. We will inspect the floor and, where the issue is covered, book in the remedial work at no cost. Full details are set out in our terms and conditions.
